Chalice Zaire

*With only two weeks left before her tentatively scheduled vacation, Chalice still has not chosen a destination for her much needed rest.  Her small but successful publishing company, Wingspeak, is the next best thing to a perpetual motion device due to her careful positioning of staff and her long hours of dedication, so leaving would not be a problem.  Still, she has not brought herself to cement her vacation plans.

The last one at Wingspeak, as always, Chalice takes a moment to go over some manuscripts before heading to an empty house.  After an hour, she puts the manuscripsts aside and decides to go leave, letting her long, black hair wave down her back as she walks toward the door.  As she reaches the door, she notices a stack of mail that she had neglected all day.*  "A few more minutes won't hurt you, Chalice," *she mumbles to herself as she retrieves the mail from her table near the door.  Glancing at the envelopes as she flips through them, she realizes that nothing there is so urgent that it cannot wait another day until one envelope catches her eye.*  "What in the world?"  *The envelope, decorated with flowers of hues of a metallic rainbow, is addressed directly to her not to Wingspeak.  The sender is her most profitable author to date.*  "A few more, indeed."  *She opens the envelope to find a simple message.*

That place is real, Miss Zaire.

"Real...hmmph." *Verbalizing the disbelief that her mind failed to grasp, Chalice returns the message to the envelope and places them back on the table with the rest of the mail.

During her 30 minute commute from the city to its outskirts, she could not help thinking about how she had felt when she had personally read the manuscript about a fantastical island. Every image described seemed to dance before her eyes. She could feel the warmth of the sun during the day, the cool wind at night, the refreshing ocean anytime it appeared. She could taste the exotic fruits and delicacies of this place that she just knew had to be fantasy but her senses told her was real. Now he tells her that what she had felt was right, that Caprice is as real as they are.*

David Borne

Quietly, his hands slid over the body of the woman lying upon his table. His strokes were slow, deliberate...some might even say sensuous if they were to look upon him right now. As they glided easily up the dark-skinned lady's spine, she moaned deeply and relaxed more. David smiled to himself. This was his domain, his place of being. He felt the energy within him aching to get out, but he had a strict rule against doing anything a client did not ask for. This one did not wish to have any energy work done, thus, he did not grant her any. But, just the same...part of him wished to.

Leaning down a bit, spreading his legs open more and adopting a stance that would allow him to continue his work without straining his back, he pressed his forearm down into the woman's back and glided it up along her spine, bringing out another moan of pleasure and comfort.

It wasn't long before he had worked his way down to her toes, with his client now laying on her back, writhing in delight at his administrations to her feet. David remained quiet, concentrating on his work. He was always like this when it came to his clients, feeling that it was important that they be allowed to express themselves fully without him being a distraction. Instead, he would serve as a catalyst for their release, a vessel through which they could let go of tension...and many other things.

After it was all over, David rose from the stool he had been seated upon and bowed to the woman. "Ma'am, your massage is complete. I will await you outside. Please, take a few moments to relax even more before standing, and becareful as you might be a bit unbalanced at first." "This is not my first time, David. I'm not a virgin, you know." the woman replied to him. David simply smiled and nodded. "Indeed, ma'am." He then stepped out as he had planned to do and took the opprotunity alone to ground himself as he did after every massage. Once he had did that, he walked to the office at the front of his clinic to await payment for his services.

When he reached their, he noticed that the mailman had dropped the mail off already and decided to look it over. One envelope caught his eye in particular. It was decorated with flowers of some strange sort and carried a scent that he could only describe as "the beach." He felt something strange from it, an odd resonating of energy unlike anything he had known before, and his curiousity was peaked. Settling down, he opened the envelope and pulled out the letter, reading carefully.

Dear Mr. Borne

We are in need of the services of a masseuse for the coming week at our resort on Caprice Island.  We were told you were the best and would like to extend an invation for you to join us here.  We would compensate you for your trouble, of course, as well as see to it that you had first-class treatment.  If you are interested, please give me a call.

Sincerely,

Jacob Kain

At the bottom was indeed a phone number.  "How odd..."

As he regarded the letter, he heard the soft foot falls of his client approaching his desk. "That was...fabulous, David. Just fabulous. You've got some amazing hands." David smiled and put away the letter, nodding his head to her. "Thank you. I try my best." "You know, I wouldn't mind some private sessions at home, David. Do you travel?" she asked him, leaning her head to the side and watching him with eyes that reminded him of a predator. Smiling more, David spoke. "I do when necessary. Your payment for today is $85." Not once did he drop is guard, for he was a professional, and he knew that this reaction was not uncommon. One simply had to remain pleasant and be about his business to get past it.

The lady smiled, evidently getting the message and payed him the $85 plus a tip of $20. "You're worth more, but that's all I can afford." She said, in regards to the tip. David expressed his appreciation for her gratitude and showed her to the door after scheduling a new appointment. After she left, he closed the clinic for lunch and headed to a nice place he new of that actually had good tasting, healthy food.

The letter, however, was still very much on his mind.

*Once at home, Chalice tries to put Caprice out of her mind.* "An enchanted island! Mr. Kain must be out of his mind. Maybe I am for allowing him to get to me like that. Uuugh!" *After stripping her body of the day's restraints, she walks into the bathroom and turns on the water in the tub, placing her hand under the faucet to test for just the right temperature to relax her. Satisfied with the heat on her hand, she stands up and admires her naked body in the mirror as the steam fills the bathroom.* "I need that vacation. If only Kain were not insane."  *In another attempt to rid herself of Caprice Island, she adds gardenia bubble bath to the water and slips into the tub, allowing the bubbles to tickle her flesh as she relaxes.*

*Just as Chalice walks into her office and turns to gather her mail from the table near the door, she sees the envelope once again. This time the captivation of Caprice Island is not as strong, so she is able to throw the envelope and its strange contents away.* "I have work to do." *The next couple of days bring a flood of work for her and her editors and end with a miracle, nothing for her to do, so she gathers her belongings and lets down her hair. As she gets ready to step out of her office, she sees her senior editor.*

"Boss, you really should go ahead and take that vacation now. We have this. Now, don't you go and insult your editing staff by saying that we can't handle things for a week without you. If we need you, we have your cell number."

"I'll consider it, Iya. Really, I will."

*At home she finds another flower drenched envelope, the second in three days.*

Miss Zaire,

I would consider it an honor if you would accept the enclosed ticket for a flight to the island of which you have read and, no doubt, dreamed.

Jacob Kain

"Ha!!!  Your timing is impeccable, Mr. Kain!"

Leif glanced at the sign of the building before he entered 'Wingspeak Publishing'.The access codes he had bought from one of the editors were worth the money spent as he slipped in unnoticed. The fact that Jacob Kain was showing interest in this business, or more likely he mused, the owner, made it his business as well. Jacob Kain was well known to Leif's family, having on numerous occasions attempted to take over its enterprises, legally and otherwise. His overpaid informant had hinted at a strange new enterprise of Kain's along with several names, which is what brought Leif here tonight. He wandered casually around the offices easily locating the editors, Chalice Zaire's, pausing to draw a small spiral on the gold embossed letters of her door before entering. Flicking on a light, he Looks around and laughs at the the orderly chaos of the office, paper stacks eveywhere. He casually searches the papers, nothing but manuscripts, editors notes, nothing really of interest. Moving to the other side of the desk his foot kicks a small bin, cursing under his breath he looks down, spying a shiny envelope. Interest piqued he bends down and  looks, twirling it through his fingers as he picks it up. Opening it up he reads the short letter inside, more importantly he reads two words, 'Jacob Kain', grinning he pockets the envelope, giving a lil twirl before he leave the building.

*As she soaks in a steamy tub of gardenia scented water, Chalice allows the intricacies of Caprice Island to waltz through her mind. She reaches into the water, pulls out a healthy sponge, lifts the sponge into the air, and squeezes it, remembering the caress of the waterfall as it washed over her body while she read Kain's book. Just then she shakes her head, snapping out of the almost hypnotic state in which she had found herself, dismissing her episode as a loneliness-induced daydream.

After her bath, she calls Iya, her senior editor, at home to tell her that she had decided to take her vacation early.*

"Let's see where that ticket takes me."

David had seen three more clients that day before closing his clinic, rounding out a very busy day for him. Back at home, he set in a darken room, incense burning near him, with his eyes closed in calm meditation. To those that could perceive it, he would be drenched in energy, but to the normal eye, nothing of the sort would be seen; save for a slight "haziness" around his person. Taking deep breaths, he centered his mind and body and washed away the days tasks, freeing him to rest tonight.

But there was one thing that had happen today that would not be cast away so easily. The letter from Jacob Kain stayed predominately on his mind, refusing to budge from his thoughts. To David, this warranted some concern, for it was just an invitation. He was not a stranger to such things from those that were well to do, since he served mainly clients that were either making good money or had spouses making good money. Just the same, this surprise invite would not leave him alone.

Rising, after he had finished his meditation, he went and retrieved the things he had brought home with him, and pulled the letter from the bundle of papers therein. Looking at it once more, he pondered why something so simply would make itself so profoundly set on getting his attention. Its as though its sender wasanxious to have him.

Such a thing required more investigation. Beside, he needed a vacation anyway, and this just might fit the bill. Somewhat. Picking up the phone, he dialed the number at the bottom of the letter and waited a moment as the distant line began to ring. It wasnt long before someone answered his call.

"Hello.  My name is David Borne.  I'm looking for a Mr. Jacob Kain."

"I have to go, Iya." *Chalice clicks over to another line to hear a stranger asking for her most profitable author, Jacob Kain. Usually a wrong number would yield a quick correction and and an even quicker goodbye, but the caller's request intrigues her.* "Um, sir, I'm sorry, but you have the wrong number...however...I do know Mr. Kain...How did you happen to come across this number?"

The feminine voice coming over the line caused David to smile a bit, despite the answer it gave him to his request. "I'm sorry. I received a letter from Mr. Kain and this number was at the bottom of it. I'm not sure...why..." He quieted after that, wondering where to go with the conversation.  He also made stock of the information he had learned thus far about the mysterious Jacob Kain: 1) he obviously was up to more than David had originally thought.  He continued to wait calmly on the phone, putting his other thoughts aside for later consideration for now.

*Although her curiosity over the situation is much greater than her anger, she does not allow a crack in her self-control, for David...David--she mentally plays with the name for a moment--is a stranger.* "Well, sir, I do not appreciate Mr. Kain's utter disrespect for my privacy, nor do I intend to continue this conversation. I suggest that you forget this number. Good evening Mr. Borne." *She hangs up the telephone and lies down in her bed. After a few moments, the sound of David's voice and thoughts of Caprice Island intertwine as she stares at the ceiling, smiling.*

Blinking, David looked at the reciever in his head, the tone of a disconnected line sounding loudly from it. "Well. I imagine that could have gone better..."  Hanging up the phone, he mused over the sound of feminine voice that had just been on the other side of that line.  "I wonder why Mr. Kain gave me her number.  Was it just a slip?"  He truly doubted it.  Thinking for a moment, he decided that perhaps a little investigation was needed.  Picking up the phone, he mumbled something about being out of his mind and dialed Chalice's number again.

*Chalice frowns and sighs as the telephone slices a hole in her silence and stabs her pretzelled fantasy. Still, she reaches over and answers in a voice full of quiet contempt.* "Yes?!"

Well, there was a burst of negativity.  David was silent for half a second, letting the anger in Chalice's voice wash over him, through him, then out of him.  All of this, in truth, only took a matter of seconds, but in his mind, it was quite a bit longer...something he had learned to do to keep himself clear of negative energy as much as possible.  When he did speak, his voice was calm and gentle.  "Hello, this is David Borne again.  I'm sorry to bother you, but I think Mr. Kain must have put your number down for a reason.  I doubt it was a mistake, most people don't make mistakes like that.  Do you mind if I ask how you know Mr. Kain?"

*The loneliness that is constantly in the back of her mind crept to the forefront as David said his name, causing a slight rise in Chalice's temperature. Still, she does not allow the heat to control her, for she must always be in control of everything concerning her.* "Actually, I do mind your asking. I am not in the habit of relinquishing information to people I do not know, so tell me, Mr. Borne, who you are and I'll decide whether or not I want to continue this conversation." *Instead of slamming down the telephone, she had given her temperature an opportunity to rise even further at the sound of David's voice while still leaving herself a sense of control.*

David cleared his throat just a bit before responding, finding that it had (oddly) constricted as she spoke.  "Well, that's quite a thing to say to someone considering your own rules on the matter.  In all fairness, I shouldn't tell you anything, miss.  I don't even know your name.  But I will tell you, for the sake of conversation, something you can find out just by looking up my name.  I am a masseuse.  And I'm a good one, if I do say so myself.  Now may I know your name?"  He stopped then, deciding he had said enough.  Now it was her turn.

*A good masseuse would know just what to do to make the best use of her flesh's increasing heat.  Get ahold of yourself, Chalice!  Chalice holds the telephone away from her so that her efforts to gain control are not detected.  She then inhales deeply...and exhales.  After a moment she brings the telephone back to her ear.*  "My name, Borne the Masseuse, is Chalice."

Chalice. Now that was unusual .  Pretty, but unusual.  "Ah.  Miss Chalice.  Or is it Mrs.?  May I ask now why you think Mr. Kain would give me your number?  He invited me to...um..." He stopped here to check the letter, wanting to get the name right, and then spoke in a slight rush, hoping not lose Chalice's attention before he had more answers.  At least she had given him her name.  "...to Caprice Island.  To work, that is.  Any thoughts?"

*Chalice pauses a moment to take in what she had just heard...that the owner of the voice that had caused her to fever would be near her very soon.*  "Ahem...I have no idea why Mr. Kain would give you my number, Mr. Borne."  *She purposely ignores David's inquiry of her marital status.*  "Perhaps he finds me a bit tense...At any rate, I'm sure you'll deduce some idea or another.  Goodnight, Mr. Borne."

On the taxi ride back to the hotel I continued to muse about the strange invite, twirling it in my fingers, looking, rereading, twirling again. The cab driver, a white, overweight man, his face flat like a pincushion and in need of shaving smelled of sweet cigars. Judging by the slight shake of his hands i wondered what exactly he spiced them with. He relaxed back as we stopped at a light, letting me know his opinion of the weather and the traffic in a practiced monologue that required no response. I kept my mouth shut and tipped him too much. The doorman greeted me as i entered, following me with his eyes, unsure whether i really belonged in here. I slouched against the elevator wall as it rose, lost in thought about Caprice Island and Kain. He was definately planning something, everything he did was coldly calculated to benefit his empire. I wondered how he knew of Chalice, what connection the two had and more importantly who else he had invited to his island. Entering my hotel room, habit made me search for anything out of place. "Uggh I'm hungry". Investigating this could wait till later, I need a shower and room service.

"No, wait...just a minute."  David said to Chalice, sensing the end of their converstation was about to be pressed upon him.  "Do you perhaps have some way of contacting him?  Maybe he can explain things better.  I mean...he's invited me, but I have no idea how to get there or where there is."  He paused again then, hoping to hear Chalice speak again.  She had a nice voice...kind of quiet, but not weak.  It was an interesting combination.

*Chalice masks her delight over David's persistence with a sigh.* "Look, Mr. Borne. I'll tell you what. I will call Mr. Kain and ask him what he would like for me to tell you. You may give me your number and I will relay his message. That, Mr. Borne, will have to suffice." *She sits back against the headboard and smiles smugly, satisfied with her assertiveness.*

Leif, woke dazily, whatever he had been dreaming fading smoothly from his mind. He fumbled for his mobile, glancing at the time, "ugggh 3am". Yawning he swung his feet off the bed, resting his head in his hands till the daziness passed. Getiing up he walked to the window, drawing open the blinds, gazing down at the restless city. He went to the phone ordering some room service again, before starting his laptop, cracking his neck as he waited. He sent an email to his contact in Kanes service confirming the payment for the information. He would have to pick up the books Kain had written later on, it would make for long reading but there might be useful information within the pages. That he had let Kains publishing efforts go unchecked for so long might prove to be a mistake he mused, he had used various publishers over the years, and mainly on topics that were theoretical in nature. He began to do some searches on Caprice island, sending out feelers for information through his various contacts. Within a few days he should have enough information to go forward, but for the meantime all he could really do is be patient.

"Well.  Forgive me for bothering you, Miss Chalice.  I did not mean to intrude.  My number is listed should Mr. Kain wish to call me.  I bid you goodnight."  He hung up the phone then, wishing to end the converstation before he became upset.

In truth, it was too late for that.  He was already very upset at Chalice's attitude.  For someone with such a nice voice, she treated him more like a telemarketer than a gentleman in need of assistance.  Whatever.

David decided he should start packing, despite his lack of tickets or directions.  He was sure it was just an oversight of some sort, and he would rather be prepared than be caught unaware upon it's correction.  He had every intention of going now, even if only to met the man that would direct him to such a...pill...of a woman.

*In disbelief that her assertiveness was not taken for charm, Chalice angrily presses the OFF button on her cordless telephone and returns it to its base.* "Hmmph!" *She slides down in the bed and quickly rolls over, pulling the cover over her shoulders...* "Damn."

*The next day she packs and takes a taxi to the airport.*

Two days after he had received the letter that had prompted him to call a woman by the name of Chalice (which was caused by him trying to reach Jacob Kain...long story), David recieved another letter in the mail from Mr. Kain. Within it was two tickets and a note that said "I trust your had an interesting converstation with my associate. I hope to see you soon, Mr. Borne, so that all business matters may be arranged fully." Nothing else. Having already decided to go, David had packed and now took his bags down to his vehicle, loaded them, hopped into the car and drove to the airport.

He was in luck, it seemed. He managed to catch a late flight out to Caprice Island.

"Well. The plot thickens, it seems." He mused to himself, smiling just a bit even though he wasn't quite sure as to why.

*In the back of the taxi, Chalice lays her head back on the seat and wonders what lies ahead for her on this trip. Suddenly, an uneasiness plagues her as she wonders exactly where she is going once she is on her plane. She takes the ticket out of her purse to see if it gives any indication of where this fantasyland is. No. The arrival city listed on the ticket is Caprice Island. I've never done anything so haphazard in my life. Why am I starting now? She leans forward to tell the taxi driver to turn around, but just as she is about to touch his shoulder, she feels a tenseness in her lower back. You need this vacation, Chalice. At that thought, she sits back and tries not to think about traveling to the unknown.*

*The events from the time she relinquished her hangups to the time she retrieved her luggage at Mainland Airport are all a blur. Chalice looks around and marvels at how beautiful the scenery is. She makes mental notes of the tall trees and colorful flowers as admires them. Just then she feels a slight tap on her shoulder and turns around to see a young woman who reminds her of a painting she once saw of Persephone, the goddess of the underworld in Greek mythology. "Welcome to Mainland, Miss Zaire." Persephone's voice seems to leak out of her with only the slightest movement of her lips. "You have an hour before Caprice Island's private plane comes for you. Please, enjoy some refreshments in our eatery while you wait." Her movements like those of some dreamed gypsy surrounded by fog, Persephone slowly raises her hand waist-high in the direction of the eatery and smiles at Chalice before walking away without telling Chalice her real name. At the thought of having met Hades's stolen wife, Chalice shakes her head and walks over to the eatery where she orders a light brunch and reads a newspaper as she waits to be whisked away.*

David set quietly upon the plane that was just now leaving for Mainland Airport.  The schedule they gave him was simple.  Once the plane had landed at the Mainland Airport (which, incidently, was in the city of Mainland, which was on the mainland of the island...), there would be just enough time to refresh one's self before Caprice Island's private plane would take him (and whomever else might be headed for that place) from the mainland to the island itself.  From there, he would be taken by private car...Man, this Mr. Kain was loaded it seemed...from the island's little airstrip to meet, hopefully, the gentleman that invited him.

"I guess I better get some rest..." David thought to himself as he rested his head back against his seat.  "...I wonder what's waiting for me out there?"

*Just as Chalice closes her newspaper, she feels a cold hand on her shoulder. When she turns around, she sees Persephone's hostess smile.* "The plane has arrived, Miss Zaire. Please, come this way." *Chalice gets up and looks back at her luggage.* "Not to worry, Miss Zaire." *Persephone raises her hand slightly and seconds later, two men whose chests remind Chalice of silver-backed gorillas but whose faces give the impression that their rough exterior is only secondary to their teddybear cores rush to Persephone's side. Without her command, they retrieve Chalice's luggage and nod at her and Persephone as they head for the plane.* "This way, Miss Zaire." *Persephone dreamily raises her hand once again, this time in the direction of the plane. As soon as Chalice boards the plane, she remembers that she does not know this strange woman's name, so she turns around to ask...but Persephone is gone.*

*When Chalice arrives on Caprice Island, she is eerily surprised to find that a room has been reserved for her at The Isle, a four-star hotel. While it pleases her that such care has been taken to insure her comfort, Chalice wonders why Kain has gone through so much trouble. I've heard of gratitude, but this is ridiculous. Still, she takes her keycard and goes to her suite where she finds her luggage waiting for her.*

David's plane touched down at the Mainland Airport just as the sun was setting.  He yawned and stretched a bit as he looked around, waiting for the seatbelt sign to go off so that he could get off the plane.  The trip hadn't really been that bad...first class was the best way to go for sure.  The movie had been rather boring, however; your typical over dramatic drama.  Still, it was better than nothing.

It wasn't long before the plane had stopped and everyone was up gathering their things.  David had no carryons, so he exited the plane and followed the signs to the baggage carousel.  Moving confindently through the small crowds of people, he stepped up to the belt and waited for his luggage to come around...

...which, thankfully, it did.  It was always a gamble with these things anyway.

Grabbing his suitcase and bags, he turned only to find someone standing only a few feet behind him with their attention directed most specifically at him.  The person was a man, tall and lanky, with eyes that seemed to be the color of fire.  Not red, excatly...nor orange or yellow.  But they seemed to have that glow of fire to them.  An odd thing indeed, one that gave him pause long enough for the man to speak.  "Mr. David Borne.  The plane is waiting."

David was even more unsure about what was going to happen now, but this boded well for at least something of interest.  The gentleman turned without stating his own name, him to follow behind and consider if he looked like that much of a tourist here.

It wasn't long before David was seated in one of the most lasvish planes he had ever been in.  It was like a flying resort room or something...it was lavish, with admenities that would make many 5-star hotels blush with envy.

And oddly enough, he was the only one on board, save for the pilot.  Taking a breath, David stood and walked around the room, wondering at the space.  It seemed so much bigger than the small plane he had boarded would allow for.  Even with different space-saving building techniques, it seemed that this room...this flying resort cabin...was defying the laws of physics.

A soft rumble moved through David's mind, like that of a large cat growling quietly, and David immediately knew that something was amiss.  It wasn't close...not yet.   But much like he had suspected after talking with the somewhat difficult Chalice, all was not what it seemed.

A slight grin crossed his face as he set down again, buckling up as he heard the pilot's voice come over the com.  "Mr. Borne, we will be touching down shortly.  Please buckle in for safety, and let me be the first to welcome you to Caprice Island.  I hope you enjoy your stay."

*Always on guard, Chalice walks slowly into her reserved room. Unexpectedly, her apprehension starts to wane merely at the sight of her luggage appearing like doll furniture next to the enormous sleigh bed. A sleigh bed. Just what I always wanted as a child. My Lord! What is this thing? A double king or something?

She closes the door and runs toward the bed as the door automatically locks behind her. Steps away from the bed, she leaps into the air, flying for what seems to be at least 30 seconds. The bed's uncanny combination of cloud softness and toned muscle firmness immediately relaxes Chalice as she lands safely with a childlike smile on her face.*

The flight had been uneventful, despite the feeling he had had prior to the plane's take off.  That was just as well, since he had hoped to at least see the place before things popped off.  And they would...he knew it.  Now that he was on the island itself, that soft warning growl that had rumbled through his head was now a full roar.

Looking around his room, David nodded in approvement.  It was just as he would have set things up, which meant that either someone knew him really well, or they were a damn good guesser.  He didn't know which at the moment, but he was sure he would find out.

His luggage was beside the bed, save for the two stick made of quartz on the bed.  While the value of them really wasn't that much, the value of them to himi was enormous.  Lifting the two sticks, he knew instantly that they hadn't been tampered with.  These sticks had been his for years now, and he used them in his practice...and among other things.

Holding them out in front of him, he bowed his head for a quick moment, then pulled a rolled up leather bag out of his pocket.  He had had to disclose the items in order to board the plane, which he hated to do...but what was done was done.  Now, he slid them back into their case and noticed a note on the pillow of the bed.  It was addressed to him.

"You are invited to tour the facilities you will be working in at your leisure.  The are located two building down, on the right hand side of the street.  We welcome a master of your caliber most humbly."

"Hm..." he mused aloud.  "Laying it on a big thick, aren't we?"  Tossing the note to the bed, he rested the now incased sticks on the table beside the bathroom door.  Undressing, he decided he would have a look around, but only after he had a good bath.

*Chalice awakens to darkness like that of the underground cavern in which she formed a silly crush on the tour guide when she was twelve years old. A bit embarrassed at the sudden return of childhood feelings, she shakes her head and rolls her eyes, dismissing the crush.* "I've GOT to get out of this bed." *She turns over onto her stomache and strokes the mattress.* "Mmmmm. Maybe just a few more minutes." *She closes her eyes and drifts back to sleep where she dreams of being that twelve-year-old girl sitting in the cavern watching the tour guide grin just before the lights go out. Instead of just sitting there beside her sister trying to see her hand as instructed, she floats out of her seat toward the tour guide even though she cannot see him anymore. Once she feels his breath on her neck, she realizes that she is no longer a child but a grown woman, so she slips her arms around his waist as she gently pushes her body against his and kisses him. Just as her lips touch his, he gift wraps her in his arms. Suddenly the lights are back on and she is once again a little girl standing beside the tour guide. She looks up at him and he gives her a knowing smile and winks.

At that she awakens and looks over at her clock.* "6:37 AM. Uuuugh. This sleigh has taken me for a ride for much too long." *She sits up and quickly stands up as not to fall prey to the comfort of the bed once again. In an effort to find out more about this island, she takes a quick shower and goes downstairs to breakfast.*

It had been a few days since David had arrived and he still had yet to me Mr. Jacob Kain.  You would think that the man would greet him properly, but so far he had only communicated through a host of female...hostesses.  It was a little disconcerning, but David continue on.  He had settled into working with some of the "special" clients Mr. Kain had on the island, people that were wealthy beyond reason and had nothing better to do than to visit strange islands and request special masseuses to be flown out just for them.  It was of little matter to him in that regard.  People like that kept him well-to-do, and sometimes he actually did help them futher than they expected.

At the moment, David was going through his morning work out, both quartz sticks in his hands, twirling though the various routines of his art.  He had worked up a pretty good sweat, his muscles warm and loose now, and thanks to the vastness of his room, he had plenty of space to work.  His mind, however, was already on his day, instinct taking over his workout.  His first appointment was at 10:00am, with that...pill...of a woman, Chalice Zaire.  It was now 8:45am.  He had decided he needed every moment to approach this as a professional.

*After taking the last sip of the most delicious blend of fruit juices she had ever tasted, Chalice heads out of the hotel, walking toward the shoreline. Just as she is about to remove her shoes as not to get sand in them, a slender man of about 6'3'' approaches her from out of nowhere. In the mere seconds between the moment he appeared and that of when he speaks, Chalice has time to consume his glistening charcoal skin and his well-defined arms, chest, and stomach which all can be seen through his vanilla sheer linen shirt. How can a man look so much like a panther and be so sexy?* "Miss Zaire, from Mr. Kain." *The panther-man bows his head slightly as he hands Chalice a lavender envelope which pours out its own lavender aroma as she opens it out into a note.

Miss Zaire, treat yourself to the pleasures of the hand as stress leaves your body and every inch of your skin screams for more tactile sensation. Find ecstasy at the fingertips of a master masseuse in Euphoria, Caprice Island's massage therapy facility. See below for directions.

Without thinking, Chalice heads back to her room to change before going to Euphoria.*

*After scrubbing in a hot shower, Chalice's brown skin takes on a reddish hue. There is never an excuse not to be fresh. She rifles through her suitcase until she finds a candy-apple red two-piece bikini which she dons before she can talk herself out of putting her body on display. Still, on her way out, she grabs the matching sheer wrap that had landed near the door during her ransacking adventure and ties it around her waist. Minutes later she arrives at Euphoria, awaiting tactile pleasure.*

After showering and relaxing a bit, David had arrived at the clinic and went about setting up his room.  He was just finishing up when the small intercom on the wall beeped and a feminine voice spoke.  "Sir?  Your first appointment is in."  David responded in a calm, clear voice, his mind set on the task at hand.  "Send them in, please.  I am prepared."  He had meant it just like that...he was prepared, mentality and physically, to met the woman that was so rude to him on the phone.  He was curious as to what to expect.

David smoothed his cream colored shirt, flattening it's loose fit against his body, and did the same to his matching pants.  He always dressed as such when at work, and today was no exception.  He took a few deep breaths and then made a symbol in the air before him before whispering something quietly, and then waited patiently for Chalice to arrive.

*Fiddling with her wrap...unnecessarily adjusting her bikini top...straightening her back so that...Oh, forget it. She taps on the door and waits.*

David opened the door smoothly, quickly but not fast enough to cause a 'back breeze" to occur. Standing there for a moment, allowed his professional manner to take control and extended a hand to Chalice. "Please, right this way, miss."

His mind, however, in all truth, was racing along at a hellish pace. It was nothing of consequence, merely the thoughts of all men when encountering a stunningly hot woman. He couldn't help it, for Chalice was utterly beautiful to him and it threw him so totally off guard that if he had not been the professional that he was he would have stood there stammering, unable to form a word worth understanding.  Instead, however, he struggled to keep his eyes level with her's, for the desperately wanted to look her over, to rove over her exposed flesh and to linger on her curves.

*The touch of his hand melts away all of Chalice's nervousness.* "So...is nudity required or is my bikini fine?" *By the time the word "fine" is in the air, Chalice's bikini top is on the floor and she is reaching for her wrap.*

David's mouth worked a bit but no words came from his lips.  Thus, instead of looking foolish, he took the opprotunity to look at what Chalice was presenting with.   Before him were two lovely, luscious pair of...

"Snap out of it."  He mumbled to himself.  "Professional.  Professional."  He though even while watching Chalice deal with her wrap.  His voice, through some effort of will he didn't know he had, managed to come out even and calm, and he prayed even as he spoke that he wouldn't start show more "evidence" of his arousal.

"Nudity is your choice, miss.  I can work either way, although, nudity makes the process easier."  Bowing his head just a bit, even if only to break eye contact with her body, he spoke again, softer, even calmer than before.  "I am here to serve.  Whatever is best for you is how we will proceed."

*Chalice giggles at her eagerness to become naked and hops up on the massage table, leaving her wrap in place. She then girlishly swings her legs back and forth.* "Well, what are the doctor's orders?"

Allowing for a small smile, David took a step toward Chalice as she hopped up on the table.  "I am no doctor, miss.  Just a humble therapist.  If I were a doctor, I'd have to find a paper gown for you to wear."  He smiled more and then looked her over, openly, and extended a hand to her to help down from the table.  "Actually, what I need you to do is walk for me.   I have to see how your body is moving so I can see how best to make you feel...good.  Aside from that, everything else in this session is in your hands.  Whatever you need, I will do my best to provide."

*As Chalice hops down to the floor, her hand in the therapist's, she almost frowns at his request to have her walk for him. Whatever. I'm here to enjoy myself. She lets go of his hand, looks down at her bare breasts, giggles again, and begins to walk forward slowly as she looks ahead. Once she reaches the wall, she turns around and lifts her arms to her sides, forming a "T". She then turns her head slightly to the left, keeping her eyes on the therapist like a schoolgirl watching her favorite male teacher.* "Well, is that what you wanted?"

David watched Chalice walking and had to exert great control not to show just how turned on he was.  He maintained, however, making his eyes move from her swaying hips and up her bare back, forcing himself to take her in from a theraputical assessment stand point and not as an object of lust.

As she turned, her bared torso almost caught him off guard again, but the "T" she made broke the tension.  Laughing just a bit, he nodded and spoke.  "That is what I wanted, for the most part.  Thank you.  If you wish, you can hop back up on the table and we'll get started."  He then turned to gather his things, speaking again.  "Is there anything you need me to do specifically?  Any special request?"  It was a possibly odd question, but he said in a way that made it seem to fit the current situation.

*When Chalice drops her arms, her hands slap against her curvy hips, creating a slight ripple that is just noticeable enough to let an observer know that she is not a Hollywood stick. She then takes a breath, exhales, and skips back to the table. As she skips back, she seems to stand outside of herself watching in terror at the sight of her acting like some child. What the hell is happening to me? Suddenly, she feels like she is pulled back into herself as the therapist's question floats in the air. Once at the table she hops up on it and looks at the therapist, her head leaned slightly to the right with a girlish grin upon her face.* "Hmmm. What I need is freeing. Can you handle that?"
